STATEMENT POLICY REVIEW

The submitted manuscript will undergo peer review. Prior to publication, the journal evaluates the manuscript's quality. Then, relevant experts in the field review the accepted manuscript to assess it and offer comments. This process aims to assist the editor in determining whether a manuscript should be published, corrected, or rejected. The Journal of Islamic Economics and Business only publishes articles that have been reviewed in the OJS system or outside the system and approved. We use double-blind peer review, meaning that reviewers and authors remain anonymous to each other.

Reviewers assess the manuscript in terms of the quality and substance of the writing (not text grammar), including freshness, originality, usefulness, and the validity of citations and the bibliography. Additionally, reviewers do not make decisions to accept or reject articles but rather provide recommendation decisions. In the Journal of Islamic Economics and Business, the authority for decision-making lies entirely with the journal's editor-in-chief, executive editor, or editorial board.

Review Process

  1. The editorial team first screens manuscripts before submitting them to the journal. The editor evaluates the focus and scope of the journal and provides additional data. If it does not meet the criteria, the manuscript will be rejected.
  2. The manuscript is initially checked for similarity by members of the editorial team. It is rejected if significant plagiarism is found. Authors are contacted if a minor redundancy or plagiarism is found for clarification. If no improvements are made by the author, the manuscript will be rejected.
  3. The editor will send the manuscript that passes the initial screening to at least one peer reviewer for evaluation.
  4. The peer reviewer sends back the review form to the editor with recommendations to the journal editor on whether the manuscript should be rejected or accepted (with revision notes if necessary).
  5. The journal editor considers all feedback from the peer reviewer and makes a decision to accept, require major revisions, require minor revisions, or reject the manuscript.
  6. The editor will send an email with the decision to the author for confirmation. If approved, the manuscript will be sent to production. If revisions are required, they must be promptly returned to the editor via the OJS system or email. The editorial team will review the revisions to ensure the necessary updates are made before publication. Submissions returned after one month are considered new submissions.
